PRELIMINARY PARELAND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
SILVER VIEW COhB4UNrIY PARK
IMPROVEMENTS
MARCH, 1990
FACILITY:
Pathway bridges or culverts
PRIMARY ACTIVITY/FUNCTION:
To provide two passageways across water run-off areas located along the
woodchip nature path.
PLAN DESCRIPTION:
The provision of these two bridges or culverts would enhance the
pathway system allowing easier access across water run-off areas of the
pathway.
RECREATION CRITERIA:
The bridges may be made of wood and should be large enough to
adequately span the run-off waters of the passageway during average
rainfall.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE CRITERIA:
The passageways should be as maintenance free as possible, requiring no
staining or painting. The passageways must be durable and as vandal
free as possible.
GENERAL DESIGN CRITERIA:
It is suggested that the small bridge currently located at the western inlet
could be used for the pathway section of run-off that often occurs at the
bottom of the gully off the Silver Lake Rd. sidewalk access. It is also
suggested that the pathway area between the bridge and Scotland Green
parking lot, located at the Long Lake Rd. access point, could be improved
with a small bridge or culvert.
27
