MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />October 25, 1990 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />6:30 p.m. <br />CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by <br />Chairperson Burmeister. <br />ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Burmeister, Long, Stevenson, <br />Silvis, Trettel and Starr. <br />Staff present: Saarion <br />Visitor: Jack Newton <br />MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Stevenson, <br />seconded by Commissioner Long to approve the <br />September 27, 1990 minutes as written. Motion <br />passed: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister reported on the continued <br />progress at Lakeside Park regarding the improvements <br />to the softball field. It was reported that additional <br />sod was laid on the field. The remainder of the areas <br />will be finished in the spring. <br />LAND ACQUISITION - <br />GROVELAND PARK <br />Mr. Newton provided .appraised costs of the properties <br />located on the northern border of Groveland Park. <br />The appraiser suggested that parcel A could be split <br />into two lots for $28,000 each. Parcel B containing <br />the house and garage was appraised at $70,000 and <br />Parcel C, the wooded lot, was appraised at $32,000. <br />Chairperson Burmeister expressed his interest in <br />pursuing the purchase of this land citing the fact that <br />there are few chances available to acquire or enlarge <br />park land. His opinion was that this was a good <br />opportunity. The Commission inquired whether or <br />not the Groveland Park Foundation might be a group <br />willing to solicit support for the acquisition. <br />1 <br />
