RESOLUTION NO. 93-35 - 1993 <br />RESOLUTION FOR SUBMISSION OF GRANT APPLICATION TO THE <br />STATE BOARD OF GOVERNMENT INNOVATION AND COOPERATION <br />FOR THE PROPOSED REGIONAL SENIOR CENTER <br />WHEREAS, the city of Spring Lake Park is a party to an agreement between the <br />Metropolitan Council and the cities of Fridley, Mounds View, and New <br />Brighton, (here -in -after) referred to as "the cities" to explore <br />opportunities for improving cooperation between the cities relative to the <br />provision of public services; and <br />WHEREAS, the cities have identified the potential for improved cooperation <br />in the area of senior citizen services; and <br />WHEREAS, the cities have identified the need for a Regional Senior Citizen's <br />Center and expanded senior programs and services; and <br />WHEREAS, the cities have identified start up costs that are needed for the <br />construction of a Regional Senior Citizen's Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the State Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation is now <br />accepting applications for Cooperation Planning Grants and Service Sharing <br />Grants; and <br />WHEREAS, the aforementioned implementation need of the cities is deemed to <br />be a project which is eligible for funding by the State Board's grant <br />programs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Spring Lake Park City Council <br />supports, in concept, the submission of the grant application to the State <br />Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation to help fund the <br />aforementioned service sharing project. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, at the request of the Board of Government <br />-Innovation and Cooperation, the Spring Lake Park City -Council will consider <br />adopting a subsequent resolution prior to January 7, 1994 which pledges the <br />support of the Spring Lake Park City Council to all aspects of the grant <br />applications that are to be submitted to State Board of Government Innovation <br />and Cooperation. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SPRING LAKE PARK THIS <br />1st DAY OF November , 1993. <br />MAYOR <br />LTTE T: <br />r ��'�'LfJ ✓ / ' T W <br />- CITY CLERK <br />JK93-180 <br />
