RESOLUTION NO. 4440 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIE74 <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION FOR SUBMISSION OF GRANT APPLICATION TO THE <br />STATE BOARD OF GOVERNMENT INNOVATION AND COOPERATION FOR <br />THE PROPOSED REGIONAL SENIOR CENTER <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is a party to an agreement between <br />the Metropolitan Council and the cities of Fridley, New Brighton, and <br />Spring Lake Park (hereinafter) referred to as "the cities" to explore <br />opportunities for improving cooperation between the cities relative to the <br />provision of public services; <br />WHEREAS, the cities have identified the potential for improved <br />cooperation in the area of senior citizen services; and <br />WHEREAS, the cities have identified the need for a Regional Senior <br />Citizen's Center and expanded senior programs and services; and <br />WHEREAS, the cities have identified start up costs that are needed foz <br />the construction of a Regional Senior Citizen's Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the State Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation is <br />now accepting applications for Cooperation Planning Grants and Service <br />Sharing Grants; and <br />WHEREAS, aforementioned implementation need of the cities is deemed tc <br />be a project which is'eligible for funding by the State Board's grant <br />programs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />supports, in concept, the submission of the grant application to the State <br />Board of Government Innovation and Cooperation to help fund the <br />aforementioned service sharing project. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that at the request of the Board of Government <br />-Innovation and Cooperation, the Mounds View City Council will consider <br />adopting a subsequent resolution prior to January 7, 1994, which pledges <br />the support of the Mounds View City Council to all aspects of the grant <br />applications that are to be submitted to State Board of Government <br />Innovation and Cooperation. <br />Adopted this 1 day of November, 1993. <br />ATTEST:��T�_ j <br />MAYOR <br />(SEAL) <br />CITY DMINISTRATOR <br />
