H Report Number. 94-1335C Report Date: 10-6-94 Council Action: Special Order of Business Public Hearings M Consent Agenda ❑ Council Business k Bui -RnRS The joists and exterior rim and siding were observed to be rotting at both Groveland and Hillview Park buildings because of the lack of a vapor barrier, insulation and ventilation in the crawl space of both buildings. In addition, the landscaping was too high, the block foundation too low and the crawl space at less than the minimum distance. These problems were identified by City Building Inspector Rick Jarson. At his recommendation, a price quote was requested and received from the carpenter who is contracting the improvements to both buildings at the present time., The quote is $10,355 for replacement of the rotting wood, repair to areas, installation of a vapor barrier at both buildings and additional installation of exterior siding with painting and windows at Groveland Park building. - This is an emergency situation. The work needs to be done in order to maintain the integrity of the buildings and for the continued maintenance and use of the buildings. The funding source identified is Park Improvement Funds of 1994. Mary Saari or of Parks, Recreation and Forestry -N. Approve the repair work that needs to be done at both Hillview and Groveland Park buildings at a cost of $10,355 with the funding source being the 1994 Park Improvement Fund dedication.
