�� �,� � •�� rye r <br />1 The cities of New Hope, Richfield and Shakopee have "split" hours <br />1� G of supervised skating providing attendants time off of 1 to <br />1-1/2 hours in the 4:30 to 6 p.m. time slot. <br />�Brooklyn Center, Cottage Grove, Maplewood and Mounds view are <br />the only responding cities who do not provide extended skating <br />hours during the school's traditional winter break. <br />Only 12 cities provide skating services on holidays (Arden Hills, <br />Blaine, Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Burnsville, Columbia <br />Heights, Coon Rapids, Cottage Grove, Richfield, Robbinsdale, St. <br />Louis Park and South St. Paul). <br />N[WER OF ATTR.N'DANTS <br />Generally, 1-3 attendants are hired per site to share the number <br />of hours between them. Shakopee indicated that volunteers help <br />help out at warming houses in addition to their uasr? attendant. <br />WHO SCHEDULES <br />Only 9 cities allow attendants to organize their own ,cork <br />schedule. All other responding cities have program or recreation <br />supervisors, directors, specialists or foremen to plan work <br />schedules. <br />ATTENDANTS SALARY <br />Thirty-nine (39) cities responded with starting pay ranges from <br />$3.75 to $6.00. <br />STARTING PAY # OF CITIES <br />$ 3.75 - $ 4.00 7 <br />$ 4.25 - $ 4.75 19 <br />$ 5.00 - $ 6.00 13 <br />PROGRAM OPENS <br />Anoka and St. Paul open the skating season on December ?. <br />Thirty-one responding cities open rinks between DecQ_Tiber 11-21. <br />Six cities indicate rinks open after December 22. Rosemount <br />determines dates dependent on weather. Richfield runs an eight <br />week skating activity program, opening during the week prior to <br />Christmas. <br />PROGRAM CLOSES <br />The majority of cities close rinks in mid-February, dependent on <br />weather. Anoka maintains skating services for the longest period <br />of time, December 1 through March 1 with Blaine a close second <br />(December 15 - March 1). <br />(2) <br />
