asked about this at the first meeting and definitely given the impression that such concerns may
not be appropriate with facilitiEs that are meant to cater to families and children. While I have no
disagreement with that, there will likely be some economical benefit to the community and our
assessment of that should be taken into account. Otherwise there is little question the area can
use more facilities, but I would be interested in knowing further where the funds are to come
from. Council attention to this issue would be helpful.
Item 12 - Preparation Materials for Council Retreat: Don Salverda has been in contact with
each of you and myself. His proposal for a program on January 24 is enclosed. I put together a
memo of my thoughts as well that can be taken or left for what they are worth. There is no need
to do anything on Monday with this.
Item 13 - Golf Course Project: I asked John Hammerschmidt to update the Council on the
lighting project and other efforts he is working on out at the golf course.
Items 14 and 15 - Golf Course Litigation Status and Collective Bargaining Agreements
Status - Closed Session: I thought this would be a good time to update the Council on these two
items in a closed session. It shouldn't take too long.
I will be back in the office on Monday. Have a Happy New Year's Day and a good weekend.
