trondale Basketball Association {ISA <br />IBA offers a single season program, with separate programs for boys and girls. Registration forms will <br />be mailed to last year's program participants- Third graders will receive flyers in their school class- <br />rooms during the first week of school. New participants can pick up registration forms at the Mounds <br />View and New Brighton Parks and Recreation Offices. Registrations can either be mailed or dropped <br />off in person at the walk-in registration times of Wednesday, September 23, from 7:00 - 8:30 pm <br />or Saturday, September 26 from 10:00 am - Noon at the New Brighton Family Service Center. <br />Mailed registrations must be postmarked by September 30, 1998. The in-house basketball pro- <br />gram is for boys and girls in grades 3 - 8. Practices are <br />twice per week, one hour in length <br />between 5:00 -10:00 pm. Practice <br />days are usually Monday and Thurs- <br />day OR Tuesday and Friday. Games <br />are usually played on Saturdays with <br />an occasional Thursday evening <br />game. Teams will be formed by <br />random selection by grade and <br />school boundary area. In the interest <br />of fairness to all players, request for <br />specific teams/coaches will not be honored. The <br />registration fee is $45.00 per player with a maximum of <br />$90.00 per family. IBA is totally dependent on volun- <br />teer coaches. Coaches are provided with information <br />on skills and practice drills. Parents willing to coach <br />may indicate so on the registration form or contact <br />Jolene Ormand at the number listed above. <br />'lira ve X i m g_. gram <br />The traveling program is for boys and girls in grades 5 - <br />8. Traveling teams provide the boys and girls a chal- <br />lenging opportunity to compete against the best players <br />of their age throughout the Metro area and the State. <br />The competition level is greater and more intense than <br />the in-house program. The registration fee is $45.00 <br />per player applies and there will be an additional <br />traveling fee based on the number of tournaments <br />played. Teams practice 2 times per week for 1.5 hours <br />each. Teams are selected by tryouts. Tryouts are <br />scheduled for the week of September 14, 1998. <br />Traveling team players MUST have their primary <br />residence in the Irondale High School boundary lines to <br />eligible for the traveling program. All players trying <br />out for the traveling program must provide a <br />completed registration form, including all signa- <br />tures, and the appropriate fee prior to or at the time <br />of try -outs. NO EXCEPTIONSI Tryout times and <br />locations are listed in the registration flyer and will be <br />published in the local newspapers and posted at the <br />local schools. <br />Coalition for Healthy Youtb <br />Asset of the Month - Youth as Resources.
