Senors scarla <br />Senior Exercise <br />Seniors meet every Monday and Thursday from 8:45 - <br />9:45 am at Messiah Lutheran Church. <br />Exercises consist of stretching and <br />flexibility work along with strengthening <br />exercises. Aerobic walking concludes INK <br />each session. This is an excellent way <br />to keep your muscles flexible and <br />strong which is very important in <br />preventing falls and injury. This activity is offered <br />free of charge. Seniors lead the class them- <br />selves. <br />WHEN: Mondays and Thursdays <br />WHERE: Messiah Lutheran Church <br />TIME: 8:45 - 9:45 am <br />DATES: On-going <br />55 -Alive Defensive <br />Driving Courses <br />The Mounds View Recreation Department offers 55 <br />Alive Defensive Driving courses fo <br />Senior Citizens. Participants <br />completing either the 8 -hour or the <br />�-- 4 -hour refresher courses, will <br />receive a certificate entitling them <br />up to a 10 percent discount on the <br />auto insurance. <br />PRE -REGISTRATION IS <br />REQUIRED. <br />4 -HOUR REFRESHER COURSES <br />1) Wed. Oct. 21 & 28, 1998 at 5:00 - 9:00 p <br />must attend both days <br />Mounds View City Hall Lower Level <br />$10.00/ person (materials, & refreshments) <br />Senior Dining and <br />Meals on Wheels <br />Seniors Dining, sponsored by the Mounds View <br />School District, is available to all area senior citizens <br />age 60 and older. There are two dining sites in the <br />district: The Family Service Center at 400 Tenth St. <br />NW, New Brighton; and the Shoreview Community <br />Center at 4590 N, Victoria St, Shoreview, The sug- <br />gested donation for the noon meal is $2.50. Reserva- <br />tions are required. Call New Brighton at 638- <br />2145 or Shoreview at 490-4770. <br />The Meals on Wheels program is available to <br />Mounds View School District senior citizens and <br />certified handicapped persons who are unable to <br />manage their own food preparation. This program <br />provides hot, nutritious meals delivered by volunteers. <br />For more information call 638-2145. <br />Sunrise Seniors Club <br />You are invited to join this diverse group for some great <br />socializing and fun. The club meets on the second <br />Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am at Sunrise <br />Methodist Church, County Rd. I and Long Lake Rd. <br />Seniors plan and lead activities throughout the year <br />including cards, pot lucks and more. Call Mary <br />Saarion at 717-4041 or Ione Carlson at 7849448 for <br />more information. <br />Senior Linkage Line <br />Senior Linkage Line is a free telephone information and <br />assistance service which makes it easy for <br />older adults and their families to find <br />community services. This is your 4M <br />connection to services near you for <br />more information, call 333-2433. <br />Care -A -Van <br />The Care -A -Van is a 13 passenger vehicle with 2 <br />wheelchair tie -downs, which transports senior citizens <br />who reside in the Mounds View School District with no <br />means of transportation to doctors, clinics, hospitals <br />or shopping, when available.
