* Grantswriting - Writes and submits grant applications to state, county and federal <br />agencies in order to supplement funding of city park development, acquisition and <br />improvements. <br />* Budget - Develops and submits a sound and documented recreational <br />programming and parks department budget and controls expenditures accordingly <br />within approved budgetary limitations. <br />* Park Maintenance - Directs a comprehensive program of parks maintenance, <br />park improvement and park development to ensure safe and functional park <br />facilities. <br />* Partnerships - Establishes partnerships with other various entities for the benefit <br />of joint programming, funding, facilities usage, and successful achievement of <br />goals and objectives identified by partnering entities ie, Ramsey County initiatives <br />such as Healthy Families and Communities, School District with Healthy Youth <br />and asset builders, Scouts with community service programs, neighboring <br />communities with collaboratives, etc. <br />* Forestry - Provide direction and facilitation to the City Forester through the Joint <br />Powers Agreement to ensure that tree diseases are controlled, and that <br />reforestation occurs benefitting from the assistance provided through Tree City <br />USA program which enhances opportunities for cities to protect its green canopy. <br />Park Improvements/Development/ Acquisition - Establishes a five year capital <br />improvement pian for the improvement of parks to ensure safe and functional park <br />facilities. Through the recommendations of the paries and Recreation Commission, <br />prepares and presents proposals to the City Council regarding park improvements, <br />redevelopment, development and acquisition. <br />Performs other duties and assumes additional responsibilities as directed by the City <br />Administrator. <br />DESIRED MMMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in Parks and Recreation <br />Administration. <br />Valid class C drivers license. <br />Parks and Recreation management experience in administration, recreation programming, and <br />Parks maintenance and improvements. <br />
