"Quite Simply the Best" <br />Class Title: <br />Department: <br />Date: <br />GENERAL PURPOSE <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Golf Course Superintendent <br />Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />3/10/94 <br />Phone: (612) 784-3C <br />Fax: (612) 784 -3, -- <br />Performs a variety of administrative, supervisory and professional <br />work in the maintenance and operation of a golf course and <br />associated facilities. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED: <br />Works under the general guidance and direction of the Parks and <br />Recreation Director. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervises grounds keepers, club house staff, and other part-time <br />or temporary employees as assigned. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />Manages and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within <br />available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff <br />assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; <br />reviews progress and directs changes as needed. <br />Provides leadership.and direction in the development of short and <br />long range plans; gathers, interprets, and prepares data for <br />studies, reports and recommendations; coordinates department <br />activities with other departments and agencies as needed. <br />Provides advice to supervisors; makes presentations to supervisors, <br />boards, commissions, civic groups and the general public. <br />Communicates official plans, policies and procedures to staff and <br />the general public in assigned area of responsibility. <br />Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within <br />budget; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and <br />expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control; <br />prepares annual budget requests; assures effective and efficient <br />use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time. <br />P409Y,'MTH! r•--• 1 <br />���ISc7Y1yK`- 2401 Highway 10 • Mounds View, Mi l 112 Gtaa t--- <br />
