Projects needs for equipment, materials and supplies. Assists in <br />the preparation of specifications, estimates, and bids for <br />machinery, equipment, and contractor services. <br />Assures that tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept <br />in proper working condition. <br />Prepares and maintains daily, monthly, and annual reports and <br />records, as assigned. <br />Oversees the mowing and maintenance of fairways, greens, tees, and <br />open space areas; oversees the maintenance of sprinkler systems and <br />the repair and installation of sprinkler lines and heads. <br />Oversees the seeding, fertilizing, top dressing, soil conditioning, <br />watering, and the pest and weed control of the golf course. <br />Opens and closes, locks and unlocks facilities as needed. <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br />Serves as a member of various employee committees, as assigned. <br />DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Education and Experience: <br />(A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, <br />supplemented by two years of post -secondary education or training <br />in turf management, business management, recreation, or a closely <br />related field, and <br />(B) Three years experience in golf course management, and <br />(C) Valid Drivers License <br />Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: <br />(A) Considerable knowledge of equipment, materials and <br />supplies used in golf building and course maintenance; Working <br />knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs; <br />Considerable knowledge of the business management practices of <br />public golf courses; some knowledge of municipal finance, <br />accounting and contract administration; <br />(B) Skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment; <br />skill in coordinating course use and tournament play. <br />(C) Ability to work independently with a minimum of <br />supervision, Ability to communicate effectively orally and in <br />writing; Ability to coordinate curse maintenance activities and <br />major course improvements; ability to effectively supervise staff; <br />Ability to establish ef-Loec:.ive working relationships with <br />employees, supervisors, golf associations and patrons, and the <br />public. <br />PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS <br />
