4. New Business: <br />a) Groveland Park Building Replacement. — Initiate discussions on this topic. <br />Attached is a park building usage summary. <br />• Groveland and Random are the higher used building. <br />• They are both old and need of repair. <br />• The review of the park building this last year deemed that the <br />repair was not the best solution of Groveland building. <br />• There is $20,000 to start the design process for the Groveland <br />Building in 2004. <br />• There will be design costs for Groveland, regardless if the plans of <br />the Hillview building is used. <br />• Groveland and Hillview are currently the same size <br />(approximately). <br />• A serving counter similar to what is available at Silver View may <br />be a nice amenity. The design of Groveland should include this. <br />• Hillview plans could be used with some modification. <br />Motion to replace the building at Groveland Park using the Hillview design: <br />Edmond <br />2"d: Long <br />Discussion: <br />• Hillview shelter open air porch was added on. <br />• Commissioners next month look at Hillview shelter <br />• Amendment was added by Kroeger to use the Hillview design as a base <br />line and to add a kitchen / serving area. 2"d: Kunz <br />• Next meeting bring Hillview plans and any sight plans of Groveland Park. <br />Motion passed unanimously <br />b) Skate Park — Initiate discussions on this topic. This item is currently in the <br />City's Capital Improvement Program scheduled for 2004. It was not <br />recommended in 2003. Does the Commission want to proceed with this, <br />delay it, or remove it from the Capital Improvement Program? <br />• Spend a lot of time on this already. <br />• It might be good to let it "simmer". <br />• Delay it until we find a suitable location of financing. <br />• As presented last year, this was planned to be supervised. <br />• Public Meeting was held, at the following Park and Recreation <br />Meeting it was decided not to proceed with it. <br />• Maintenance of the park would be derived for the City's general <br />fund. <br />• There were other financial needs of the City. <br />
