MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience • Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent • Must be a SBM Volunteer Firefighter • Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Driver’s License • One (1) year of Housing Inspections and/or experience • State certification as a Building Official Limited, or to be obtained within one (1) year of employment • IFSAC/Pro Board Certified Fire Inspector One (1) • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. • Ability to work well with the public and with local contractors. • Ability to read and understand complicated plans and blueprints. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Knowledge of housing inspection programs and practices. • General knowledge of housing codes. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet and permitting software; photocopier, motor vehicle, calculator, cell phone. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
