The Mounds View Vision A Thriving Desirable Community Item No: 5D Meeting Date: June 22, 2020 Type of Business: Consent Agenda Administrator Review: ____ City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Don Peterson, Public Works Director Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9283 Approving Asset Management Software for the Water Treatment Plants and Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations Introduction: Public Works has been engaged in software/technology upgrades specific to Asset Management to aid in the inventory, management, and maintenance of Mounds Views capital dollar investment in streets, municipal water utilities, storm and sanitary sewer utilities, parks, trees, as well as other infrastructure. Discussion: The City Council were provided an overview at the June 6, 2020 work session of OP- Works, an Asset Management Software for the Water Treatment Facilities and the Sanitary Sewer Lift stations. This would be incorporated in conjunction with the current Water Treatment Rehabilitation Project and it was a consensus from the Council to proceed. Features of this Asset Management Software: • Perform and track work against assets via Work Orders and Shift Notes • Attach documents (Operations and Maintenance Manuals, • Schematics, Drawings, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.) • Attach and monitor manual or SCADA readings • Store customizable and templates of asset characteristic information (Manufacturer, Serial Number, Date Installed, etc.) • Run a maintenance report to view work history Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. Goal Focus efforts on recruiting good employees and providing an environment to keep them. Financial Impact: No Financial Impact to the 2020 Budget, as funding is in the Water/Sewer Enterprise Funds.
