<br />Summary of City Statement <br />The Mounds View City Council has finalized a statement regarding the death of George Floyd and <br />subsequent events related to racism in America and Police Reform. <br />The full statement can be found on our web page. <br />We join all others in expressing our outrage over the senseless death of Mr. Floyd, express our <br />condolences and sympathy to the family, and commit to do our part to address systemic racism. <br />The City recently underwent a comprehensive review of all policies – police related and other and they <br />model the 21st Century Policing report. Our officers meet and exceed all training requirements, <br />especially those related to use of force. <br />Lastly, we are very proud of the extensive outreach programs in our police department, a full time <br />officer dedicated to outreach, two school resource officers, and nearly 30 outreach events a year to our <br />community. <br />Again, the full statement is available on our web page.
