First Reading and Introduction of Ordinance 954, Amending City Code <br />Chapter 800, Motor Vehicle and Traffic. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman requested the Council introduce an Ordinance that would <br />amend City Code Chapter 800 regarding motor vehicle and traffic. He summarized the minor <br />changes that were made to this chapter of City Code and recommended the Council introduce <br />Ordinance 954. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Bergeron. To Waive the First Reading and Introduce Ordinance 954, <br />Amending City Code Chapter 800, Motor Vehicle and Traffic. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />C. Resolution 9071, Approving VCET Officer Specialty Pay. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman requested the Council approve VCET Officer Specialty <br />Pay. He explained Ramsey County requested Mounds View participate in their VCET program <br />but had not determined if additional pay for officers participating in this program. He reported <br />the Human Resources Committee met on January 17th and it was decided some additional <br />compensation should be considered. He indicated a recommendation was being made from the <br />Human Resources Committee to pay these officers an additional $300 of specialty pay per <br />month. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller asked if there was enough room in the 2019 budget to cover this extra expense. <br />Finance Director Beer reported there was funding available to cover the proposed specialty pay. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9071, <br />Approving VCET Officer Specialty Pay. <br /> <br />Council Member Bergeron asked what the yearly expense would be to the City for the VCET <br />specialty pay. Finance Director Beer noted the additional cost would be $3,600 per year. <br />However, he explained the City had received $15,000 from the County for participating in this <br />program. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />D.
