MOU-PMS i tE , T Meeting Date: October 26, 2020 �/ �W Type of Business: Council Business Administrator review: City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9327, Authorizing the Hire of Andrew Thomas to Park and Recreation Superintendent Introduction: On October 12, 2020, Council recommended approval of the City operating a Park and Recreation Department. Resolution 9327 will give authorization to staff the Park and Recreation Superintendent position. Discussion: Staff created a job description for the Park and Recreation Superintendent. The position has been reviewed and set with the following pay range: Step 1 Step 1.5 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 31.02 31.99 32.96 34.90 36.84 38.78 The Park and Recreation Superintendent position has been offered to Andrew Thomas. Mr. Thomas has worked at the Mounds View Community Center for the past four (4) years, and has agreed to a hire date of October 31, 2020. Staff recommends starting Mr. Thomas at Step 2. Mr. Thomas would advance to Step 3 at his six (6) month anniversary after completion of a successful probationary period on April 30, 2021. Mr. Thomas would then advance to Step 4 on April 30, 2022, and Step 5 on April 30, 2023. Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Create a culture where employees desire to work. Financial Impact: Zero financial impact on the proposed budget. Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of Resolution 9327 Authorizing the Hire of Andrew Thomas to Park and Recreation Superintendent.
