EDC Minutes <br />January 16, 2020 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Freichels moved and Commissioner Stevents seconded <br />the motion to appoint Dennis Farmer as the 2020 Chair and Dan Larson as Vice Chair. <br />Comprehensive Plan Task Force Update <br />Task Force Member Farmer provided the Commission an update stating that the group <br />had not met for quite some time and the City is making any corrections and will be <br />turning it back into the Metropolitan Council for review. <br />Discuss Future Topics & Presentations <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman informed the Commission that they had requested <br />time to brainstorm ideas for topics and presentations going into the year 2020. Beeman <br />reviewed some of the presentations and topics completed in 2019. The Commission <br />provided Beeman with a list including: Housing & Code Enforcement update, Reviewing <br />a list of business and development opportunities including in -fill developments and which <br />projects have been completed, the HOPP Program, a water conservation program <br />sponsored by the City, City Budget update & outlook in the fall, Hwy 610 regional road <br />project and other bonding issues from Transportation Committee once State Legislature <br />session has been completed, hold one joint meeting between the EDA & EDC possibly <br />the third Monday in an upcoming month, possibly include a discussion what the EDA & <br />EDC would like to see at the Tires N More redevelopment site. Beeman will have a list of <br />projects completed and potential redevelopment sites available for the February 20, <br />2020 EDC meeting. <br />7. REPORTS OF STAFF <br />Crossroad Pointe Redevelopment Project <br />Assist. City Administrator Beeman provided the Commission with an update on the <br />Crossroad Pointe redevelopment site to date stating that INH Properties has poured the <br />footings and will begin staging for the pre -cast walls soon. Substantial completion is <br />expected by the end of 2020. <br />Rice Creek Commons <br />Beeman informed the Commission that Ramsey County and the City of Arden Hills are <br />still in a legal dispute over the Rice Creek Commons redevelopment site. There are not <br />any signs that a solution is imminent. <br />Mounds View Business Council <br />The next Mounds View Business Council meeting will be held at the Mounds View <br />Community Center March 4, 2020 form 7:30 — 9:00 a.m. Police Chief Nate Harder will be <br />the presenter and he will bring the Police dogs. <br />
