MOUNDS VIEW <br />of Mounds View Staff R1 <br />Item No: 8J <br />Meeting Date: April 12, 2021 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9420, Approving Bruan Intertec to collect pavement cores <br />and approve Stantec to begin the Street Design for the 2022, 2023 <br />Street Project, (City Project 2021-0O3) <br />Background/Discussion: <br />The City is in the process of rehabilitating streets that were not included in the 2007 <br />Street Rehabilitation Plan. <br />Attached to this Staff Report is the 2022, 2023 Street Project Overview Map indicating <br />the streets to be re -constructed. (Prior to the project commencing, the map will be <br />uploaded to the City's website for reference.) <br />Pleasant View Dr. is approximately 2,546 feet in length. Spring Lake Road North of <br />Mounds Blvd is approximately 3,505 feet in length. The Pleasant View Dr. street <br />segment has 4 inch bituminous integral curb with a with a bituminous pavement surface <br />measuring 30-feet wide average back - to - back of curb. Pleasant View Dr. was <br />originally constructed in 1974 and serves residential properties. <br />Spring Lake Road South of Mounds View Blvd. is approximately 4,050 feet in length. <br />Spring Lake Road is a rural section of road with no concrete curb or gutter and has a <br />bituminous pavement surface measuring 24-feet wide average. Spring Lake Road was <br />originally constructed in 1967 and serves residential properties and is a minor arterial <br />road. <br />Maintenance has included seal coating, pothole patching and skim coating as needed. <br />The current pavement is in poor condition with significant surface patching, potholes, <br />and moderate to high severity traverse cracking and pavement heaving. <br />Staff has received a proposal for Engineering Services for the 2022-2023 Pavement <br />Rehabilitation project, these services are broken down into four main phases 1) <br />Preliminary Design, 2) Community Engagement, 3) Preliminary and Final Design at a <br />cost of $416,900.00. <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
