Mounds View City Council June 14, 2021 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he would be attending an NYFS HR meeting on Wednesday, <br />June 16 and a board meeting on Thursday, June 24. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported hotel occupancy for the TCG hotels in April was 51% <br />which was the highest occupancy rate in Minnesota. <br /> <br />Council Member Cermak reported she would be attending the Mounds View Police Foundation <br />meeting on Tuesday, June 15 at Random Park at 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller explained she would be attending a Festival in the Park meeting on Tuesday, June <br />15 at the Community Center at 7:30 p.m. She indicated she would be attending a Minnesota <br />Women in City Government meeting on Wednesday, June 16. She noted she would be attending <br />the virtual League of Minnesota Cities Conference from June 23 through June 25. She commented <br />on Thursday, June 17 she would be attending a Ramsey County League of Local Government <br />meeting. She commented on a panel discussion she attended last Friday, June 11 with local law <br />enforcement where mental health concerns were discussed. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported Friday, June 18 through Sunday, June 20 was MSRA’s 47th Annual Back <br />to the 50’s weekend at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. She added that this car show was ranked <br />#1 in 2016, 2017 and 2019 in the United States by USA Today. She encouraged the public to <br />consider attending this wonderful event. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> 1. Twin City Gateway Fund Distribution <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer requested the Council provide staff with direction on how to distribute the <br />$3,500 distribution from the Twin Cities Gateway Bureau. <br /> <br />Council Member Hull supported providing 100% of the funds to Festival in the Park. <br /> <br />Council Member Bergeron concurred. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if there was any promotion Leah would like to do at the <br />Community Center. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson anticipated this would <br />occur through a mailing, as has been done in the past. Finance Director Beer reported the Council <br />had $500 in the budget set aside for promotions. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he could support distributing 100% of the funds from Twin <br />Cities Gateway to the Festival Committee. He was hopeful that the numbers would be better in <br />2022.
