Mounds View City Council June 28, 2021 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />2 Mayor Mueller asked if the logo was not allowed if the discount would not be offered to Mounds <br />3 View residents. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson explained the discount <br />4 would still be offered but Rainbow Treecare was finding in other cities that without the partnership <br />5 they were having fewer clients and more ash trees were dying. <br />6 <br />7 Council Member Meehlhause discussed the agreement with the service line warranty company. <br />8 He stated three mailings were allowed per year and this was where the issue came into play. He <br />9 explained the feeling at the time was that the average resident was not aware of their responsibility <br />10 for the sewer line. He stated he did not have a problem with this request given the fact there were <br />1 1 residents in Mounds View that had ash trees that needed injections. <br />12 <br />13 MOTION/SECOND: Bergeron/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9438, <br />14 Approving a Contract with Rainbow Treecare for the (EAB) Emerald Ash Borer Injection <br />15 Program. <br />16 <br />17 Ayes — 4 Nays — 1 (Mueller) Motion carried. <br />18 <br />19 E. Resolution 9439, Accepting Improvements and Approving Final Payment for <br />20 HVAC upgrades and replacements at the Community Center, City Hall and <br />21 Public Works Facilities. <br />22 <br />23 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council accept improvements <br />24 and approve final payment for HVAC upgrades and replacements at the Community Center, City <br />25 Hall and Public Works facilities. He discussed the improvements that were completed through the <br />26 use of CARES Act funds. The project costs were reviewed with the Council and staff <br />27 recommended approval of the final payment. <br />28 <br />29 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. REPORTS <br />38 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />39 <br />40 Council Member Bergeron stated it was nice to be holding this meeting in person. He commented <br />41 the July NineNorth Commission meeting would be live and in person. <br />42 <br />43 Council Member Meehlhause reviewed the May financials from Twin Cities Gateway with the <br />44 Council. He discussed how May and June would be well ahead of 2020, which was a good sign. <br />45 He anticipated the month of July would be strong due to the 3M Open and the USA Cup events <br />46 that would be hosted in the City of Blaine. <br />
