Resolution 9447, Authorize the Sealing of the Public Works Facility Shop <br />6 Floor. <br />7 <br />8 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council authorize the sealing <br />9 of the Public Works facility shop floor. He explained the Public Works staff has been in its new <br />10 building for three years. He indicated the facility shop floor needed to be sealed. He discussed the <br />11 proposals he received for this project and recommended a contract be awarded for this work in the <br />12 amount of $18,000. <br />13 <br />14 Mayor Mueller requested the Resolution be amended to show the project cost was $18,000 and <br />15 not $25,000. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated he would make this <br />16 change. <br />17 <br />18 MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9447, <br />19 Authorize the Sealing of the Public Works Facility Shop Floor as amended. <br />20 <br />21 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />22 <br />23 D. Resolution 9448, Rescinding Resolution 9427 to Install Netting to the Silver <br />24 View Baseball Outfield Fence. <br />25 <br />26 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council rescind Resolution <br />27 9427 to install netting to the Silver View baseball outfield fence. He explained this Resolution was <br />28 approved in June of 2021 to help alleviate balls from going into the Silver Lakes Commons <br />29 Townhome Association. He stated after speaking with the contractor, he indicated he would have <br />30 to look at the pricing because material costs had increased. He reported the contractor got back to <br />31 staff and noted the contract had increased from $25,915 to $30,700. Staff believes it would be <br />32 best to not move forward with this project at this time due to the rising cost of building materials <br />33 and recommended Resolution 9427 be rescinded. <br />34 <br />35 Mayor Mueller stated she was recently at Menards and she understood prices for building materials <br />36 were starting to come down. <br />37 <br />38 MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Meehlhause.
