MOUNDfkIEW <br />City or Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 1 <br />Meeting Date: September 7, 2021 <br />Type of Business: WS <br />Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Item Title/Subject: Discussion regarding the 2022/2023 Street Project (Areas J & K) <br />Background/Discussion: <br />The City is in the process of rehabilitating streets that were not included in the 2007 <br />Street Rehabilitation Plan. <br />The 2022/2023 Street Project Overview Map (Attachment A) indicates the streets to be <br />rehabilitated. Following is the proposed schedule for the project: <br />• September 7, 2021 - City Council Works session - Review Community <br />Engagement Feedback and preliminary plans. <br />• September 13, 2021 - City Council Meeting - Council Reviews 60% plans. <br />Review Community Engagement feedback. Provide Staff Direction moving <br />forward . <br />• October 22, 2021 - City Council reviews 100% plans before it is submitted <br />to State Aid for approval. <br />• November 8, 2021 - City Council reviews draft plans incorporating <br />comments from State Aid and approves routing for signatures. City Council <br />authorizes completion of plans and specifications for the project. <br />• December 13, 2021 - City Council accepts plans and specifications, <br />authorizes advertisement for bidding. <br />Overview of Current Conditions: <br />Pleasant View Dr. is approximately 2,546 feet in length, has a 4 inch bituminous curb <br />with a bituminous pavement surface measuring 28-feet wide average. Pleasant View <br />Dr. was originally constructed in 1976 and serves residential properties. <br />Spring Lake Road, North of Mounds View Blvd, is approximately 3,505 feet in length. <br />Spring Lake Road, South of Mounds View Blvd, is approximately 4,050 feet in length. <br />Spring Lake Road is a rural section of road with no concrete curb or gutter and has a <br />bituminous pavement surface measuring an average of 26-feet wide. Spring Lake Road <br />was originally constructed in 1967 and serves residential properties and is a minor <br />arterial road. <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
