DP — Anytime there has been a project put in — and I am getting the note the 3 minutes is up, anytime
the project goes in, the direction is to look into seeing if a sidewalk/trail can go in at the same time.
18:44
18:55 Mary Malrick — 8289 Spring Lake Road — When you look at preliminary design, did they have any
other designs that they created that we have not seen yet.
DP — No.
MM - So they were just given one?
DP — that is all we were given at this point in time, and after we receive the feedback we present that to
council. If/from the feedback we present to council, they want us to look at other designs then that will
go back to Stantec for other options for the City Council.
MM - And how do we move that forward to have other designs looked at? (
DP - I would direct your question to both myself and/or Administrator Zikmund and the City Council at a
council meeting.
MM- Ok —So when we look at the one design on Spring Lake Road there are sections that do not
currently have storm sewer. Does that $6.4 million dollars — is that putting in storm sewers all down
there or are we leaving some of it for the rain water to just move to the side?
DP —That does include storm sewer the entire length.
MM - All through it?
DP — yes.
MM - So you will be updating that piece of it?
DP — yes, that includes adding storm sewer to the entire stretch.
MM - OK, going back to the traffic count, there was a section on there — 2,000 cars on Spring Lake Road,
and it looks like that I maybe am not thinking about the road correctly, it said there was a number from
Sherwood Road to Mounds View, I can't think of where Spring Lake Road intersection with Sherwood
Road.
DP — it should be Sherwood Place.
MM - I can't think of Sherwood any, is that County J to Mounds View Blvd? Discussion, Do we have a
count from J to Mounds View Blvd?
DP — Have to ask James, the location is determined by the state, we submit those, they tell us where on
a map and we put it anywhere in that area. They typically tell us not to do them when school is in
session, they do not want to have the busses, it has to be when normal traffic, when school is not in
session.
MM - What I am thinking about, is how many of those cars are drive thru' s, and how many are turning
off on Ardan and going home, so to speak, and maybe have a stop sign or have something, There is that
big new housing developing going on north of J, and I am thinking like everyone else, we are going to get
5
