City of Mounds View, City Council
2401 Mounds View Blvd, Mounds View, MN 55112
To whom this may concern,
Hello, I have lived in Mounds View over 8 years now doing many improvements to my house
and the neighborhood I live in. You can thank me for the new roads on Long Lake Road and
county Rd H as I used to work for Ramsey County Public Works and pushed hard for the
improvements to get them on the list of roads resurfaced. I'm now a small business owner
and own Minnesota Automotive (Auto repair shop) in Coon Rapids which has me working 60-
hour work weeks and I cannot be home as much as I would like to be for now. At my house at
5045 Rainbow Lane, I had a new roof installed, new siding, new garage door, new windows,
land scaping and much more done since I moved in. I'm all about making this area better
than I found it. I have been a single father of 2 sons since 2014 as my boys have lived with
me 99 % of the time. I now just recently remarried and working on the blended family thing.
Studies have shown that having dogs at your home is good for mental health, especially for
teenage boys, it's nice to come home to someone happy to see you. I had 2 dogs and now a
3 since my oldest son moved out and now back in after being gone for just a short time.
I would like to apply for a variance for my fence in my front yard. I am asking to let the fence
to be 6 foot tall for about the first 6 feet of my front yard, to compensate for my front steps
on my house. The reason we live across from sunny side elementary school. We have
school patrols on my conner every morning, afternoon, and many other times during the day,
during the school year. I have dogs that we do are best to keep from barking, when outside
and disturbing the peace of the neighborhood. We are making more effort to keep the
peace in the neighborhood, then the average Joe with our dogs. Also, the steps are vey
close to the fence and need to be at the 6 ft height to keep the safety of the neighborhood/
school as I would not want my Pitbull dog getting out by jumping a 4 ft fence next to the front
steps.
