Item No. 613 MEMORANDUM To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners From: Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation Date: July 22, 2021 RE: Public Works Staff Report The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. Maintenance Staff worked on the following items since May 27, 2021; • Splash pad cleaning — high use — outside groups being bused in • Ball field game preparations and ball field maintenance • Irrigation repairs and testing ongoing, most days • Field stripping and painting weekly • Mowing, Whipping, Trash and litter pickup • Splash pad - test running and operation testing daily, new UV installation • Weed spraying all parks, fence lines, playgrounds wood chips ® Community Center trees obstructing parking lot trimmed • New home plates or mounds installed at Groveland, City Hall and Silverview Forestry Staff worked on the following items this last month: • Resident consults • Tree wood chipping • Watering Trees daily • Planter box maintenance weeding adding new wood mulch • Hazard Tree remediation The following is the List of Parks and projects / maintenance activities ongoing or planned this year. Current updates are in black text, and updates from the previous two month period are in grey. Ardan Park • Working with Stantec Engineering on some drainage issues in the Park. Application to perform some storm water pond maintenance was submitted to RCWD. • Work to be scheduled for this winter — postponed at this time. Still working with contractor for a date on completion. ■ Work on ditch completed — some restoration needs to be finished. City Hall Campus:. • New Picnic Shelters are being built, will be ready for next season rental. • Worked with plumber and vendor to winterize the splash pad. • Installation of the New Picnic Tables started 1IPag-
