Item 081 <br />November 22, 2021 <br />Page 2 <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Continue to be a progressive City that is welcoming and a desirable destination where residents <br />can work, live, and play safely while also maintaining a positive business climate where <br />businesses want to remain in Mounds View. <br />Financial Impact: Organizations conducting gambling within the City are required, by City <br />Code, to expend at least 75 percent of their expenditures within the City's designated Trade <br />Area, which includes Mounds View. They also are required to contribute 10 percent of its <br />net profits derived from lawful gambling in the city to a fund administered and regulated by <br />the city with payment made annually on or before March 1 for the prior calendar year, along <br />with proper documentation. <br />Recommendation: Staff recommends approval Resolution 9494 approving a premises permit <br />for the Andover Football Association, Inc. to conduct charitable gambling at Mermaid Event and <br />Entertainment Center, 2200 Mounds View Boulevard. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Nyle Zikmund <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
