Exhibit A <br />Position Title: <br />Department: <br />Accountable to <br />Status: <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Office Assistant <br />Public Works <br />Public Works/Parks and <br />Non -Exempt Part -Time <br />Recreation Director <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITON <br />Under the guidance and supervision of the Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director, this position is <br />responsible to provide a variety of routine clerical support for the Public Works Department, which includes <br />typing correspondence; generating reports and maps; data entry; digital filing; answering phones, and relaying <br />messages. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general guidance and direction of the Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />None. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Answer Public Works main phone line and respond to routine inquiries routing to appropriate staff for <br />response or resolution. <br />• Assist with departmental mailings. <br />• Schedule appointments for meter repairs and replacements. <br />• Greet visitors and assist public while providing excellent customer service. <br />• Perform clerical support, including receiving deliveries; mail distribution; assembling file documents; and <br />copying. <br />• Dispatch maintenance workers as necessary to Gopher State One emergency requests. <br />• Maintain the City Diseased Tree program database, issue letters, create re -inspection documents, and <br />update digital filing. <br />• Maintain meter repair database, issue notices, schedule repairs, generate work orders, enter data, and <br />update digital filing. <br />• Scan files into digital filing system per records retention schedule and discard hardcopies. <br />• Perform other duties consistent with the tasks of the position as assigned. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />• High School graduate or equivalent <br />• One-year of clerical experience <br />• One-year customer service experience <br />• Typing of 50+ WPM with ability to proofread <br />• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) <br />• Committed to working a regular part-time schedule of up to 25 hours per week. Reliable daily attendance <br />required in order to cover office lunch period <br />o Position is not eligible for remote work assignment. <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <br />• Previous municipal Public Works Department work experience <br />• Laserfiche or digital filing experience <br />• Access experience <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES <br />Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal direction; <br />Ability to communicate and greet visitors and co-workers in a courteous, positive and professional manner; <br />
