Mounds View City Council January 24, 2022 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated the City of Shoreview lost a longtime member of the <br />community and Council member last week, Terry Quigley. He noted he knew Mr. Quigley from <br />his time at Deluxe Corporation. He sent his condolences to the Quigley family and the City of <br />Shoreview. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported she attended a Ramsey County League of Local Government meeting last <br />week where the group focused its discussions on mental health, homelessness and economic <br />instability. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller indicated the Festival in the Park Committee was seeking volunteers to assist with <br />planning the 2022 event, which would be held on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20, <br />2022. Those interested in serving were encouraged to contact Mayor Mueller for further <br />information. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller explained the Ramsey County Dispatch Policy Committee would be meeting on <br />Tuesday, February 15, 2022. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated he met with the City of Fridley to <br />discuss the County Road I roundabout. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported staff was looking at a new product <br />for seal coating. Further discussion ensued regarding the benefits of the new product. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer explained he continues to prepare for the auditors who would be returning <br />to the City in February. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman reported he and Community Development Director Sevald <br />would be meeting with the new owners of the AMC Theaters to see what their intentions were for <br />this property. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated staff would be attending a meeting with the new Scotland <br />Green owners to discuss the remodeling of this property. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund indicated a representative from the Met Council would be attending <br />the February 14 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported he has been speaking with the Fire Board after learning <br />about Fire Chief Charlie Smith’s retirement. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund commented the viewing of the officer-involved incident was <br />rescheduled to Friday, February 4. <br />
