Past recipients of this award include: <br />2004 <br />David Jahnke <br />2013 <br />Gary Stevenson <br />2005 <br />Frank Silvis <br />2014 <br />Theresa Cermak <br />2006 <br />Ed Lanz <br />2015 <br />Gordy Fedor and Paul Fedor <br />2007 <br />Don Hodges <br />2016 <br />Virgil Beyer <br />2008 <br />Barbara Haake <br />2017 <br />Betty Wall <br />2009 <br />Diane Wuori <br />2018 <br />Penny Howard <br />2010 <br />Jean Miller <br />2019 <br />Amy Hodges <br />2011 <br />Jerry Skelly <br />2020 <br />George Winiecki <br />2012 <br />Greg Belting <br />Discussion: <br />The City of Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award recognizes ordinary citizens who have demonstrated <br />initiative to improving the community, whose service or performance exemplifies the spirit of giving back <br />and who inspire others in their volunteer efforts. <br />Three (3) nominations were distributed to the City Council for review during the Reports of Staff on the <br />March 14, 2022 Council Meeting. Staff requested the City Council review the three candidates and prepare <br />to discuss and select the 2021 award winner during the March 28, 2022 Council Meeting. When the award <br />winner is selected, staff will present the Mayor the resolution to read. <br />The City Council made a decision to designate the 2021 Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award to <br />The Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award is scheduled to be presented at the April 18, 2022 Town Hall <br />Meeting, located at Mounds View Community Center. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Increase community engagement.
