Item No: 8.F. <br />MOUNDS VtVW <br />Meeting Date: March 28, 2022 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9570, Appointing Rene Montero to Vacant Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker - Wastewater Position <br />Background <br />A Public Works Maintenance Worker — Wastewater position became available due to a <br />resignation on March 18, 2022. The City Council authorized Staff to begin the process of filling <br />the vacated position. <br />Discussion <br />The Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement requires jobs to be posted internally for five <br />(5) working day. Staff advertised this position internally, and received a letter of interest from Rene <br />Montero, Facilities Maintenance staff at Parks and Recreation and former summer seasonal <br />employee with Public Works. After interviewing Mr. Montero for the Public Service Worker <br />position, the interview panel agreed he possess the work ethic, attitude, and City of Mounds View <br />employee core values to be a valued member of the Public Works team. <br />Staff recommends starting Mr. Montero at Level A of the 2020-2022 Labor Contract.
