He reported the street committee made a <br />recommendation on the gang mailboxes noting this option also provided uniformity throughout <br />the City. He indicated the Council would be discussing an alternate design at the work session <br />meeting on Monday, April 4. <br />Mayor Mueller discussed her experience with the new mailboxes and stated they were working <br />out well after the streets were completed. <br />Rebecca Johnson, 2374 Pinewood Circle, spoke to the Council regarding a community garden. <br />She asked that the Council consider hosting a community garden somewhere in the community. <br />She explained she would be willing to assist with the legwork and research that would be involved <br />in pursuing this community amenity. <br />Council Member Hull stated he supported the Council pursuing a community garden. <br />Council Member Meehlhause suggested Silver View Park be considered for a community garden. <br />Mayor Mueller reported there were several master gardeners in the community that may be <br />interested in this project. <br />Troop Leader Jeff Rhett introduced himself to the City Council and thanked the Council for <br />allowing his troop to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. He reported his troop has a relationship with <br />City Administrator Zikmund. He indicated his scouts were in attendance at this meeting as they <br />were working on their communication and citizenship in the community merit badges. <br />7. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />A. Resolution 9568, Approving 2021 Citizen of the Year. <br />Human Resource Director Ewald requested the Council adopt a Resolution approving the 2021 <br />Citizen of the Year. She explained on March 14 the Council was presented with the three <br />candidates for Citizen of the Year for 2021 and at this meeting the Council would be approving <br />the candidate. She indicated the Citizen of the Year and Coach of the Year would be presented <br />with their awards at the Town Hall Meeting on April 18. <br />Mayor Mueller requested further information on how candidates are nominated for Citizen of the <br />Year. Human Resources Director Ewald explained residents can be nominated online on the City's <br />website at any time, and applications remain eligible for two years. <br />Council Member Hull reported his choice was candidate A for Citizen of the Year. <br />Council Member Bergeron indicated his choice was also candidate A. <br />Council Member Cermak selected candidate C. <br />Council Member Meehlhause explained he supported candidate C for Citizen of the Year. <br />
