Mounds View City Council April 11, 2022 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />l <br />2 City Administrator Zikmund reported the fire department was familiar with Hauglie's and they <br />3 have done great work at the departments facilities. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Mueller questioned how long the new carpet would last. Public Works/Parks and <br />6 Recreation Director Peterson stated he had no way of knowing this and indicated the wear and <br />7 tear would be based on the amount of traffic at the community center. <br />8 <br />9 Council Member Hull asked if the carpet came with a warranty. Public Works/Parks and <br />10 Recreation Director Peterson anticipated the carpet would come with a one year or limited <br />11 warranty. <br />12 <br />13 Council Member Meehlhause inquired when the carpet would be installed. Public Works/Parks <br />14 and Recreation Director Peterson indicated he was uncertain when the carpet would be installed <br />15 but understood the carpet would be installed in phases. <br />16 <br />17 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. REPORTS <br />23 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />24 <br />25 Council Member Cermak reported the Mounds View Police Foundation would be meeting at <br />26 Random Park on Tuesday, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. <br />27 <br />28 Council Member Cermak noted she attended the CPY Partners in Youth luncheon last Tuesday. <br />29 She supported the City being a resource to CPY given the growing needs in the community. City <br />30 Administrator Zikmund reported the City Council has approved charitable gambling in the <br />31 community and these funds could be used to assist CPY and other non-profit organizations. He <br />32 indicated he would bring this item back to the Council for further discussion at a future <br />33 worksession meeting. <br />34 <br />35 Council Member Meehlhause provided the Council with an update from the Twin Cities <br />36 Gateway. He stated he was pleased to report the convention bureau had a great year in 2021 and <br />37 recognized $ 126,882.00 in net income. The numbers for 2022 were briefly discussed with the <br />38 Council. <br />39 <br />40 Council Member Meehlhause explained NYFS has offered the executive director position to a <br />41 candidate and this individual has signed the employment agreement. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Mueller reported she would be attending the Minnesota Women's in City Government <br />44 meeting on Friday, April 15. She noted this organization was planning a Presents Event for <br />
