MavNntsvi <br />iEw <br />of Mounds View Staff R <br />To: <br />From: <br />Item Title/Subject: <br />Item No: 8.D. <br />Meeting Date: April 25, 2022 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Resolution 9580, Authorize Promotion for Jennifer Nelson to <br />Permit Technician <br />Introduction: <br />The City's Permit Technician resigned effective April 21, 2022. <br />Discussion: <br />Staff is requesting to promote Jennifer Nelson to the position of Permit Technician effective April 25, 2022. <br />Ms. Nelson has provided support to the Community Development Department since 2018, and is trained <br />on most aspects within the Permit Technician position. According to the Personnel Manual, Section 1.02 <br />Hiring Practices, the City Administrator or designee will determine if a vacancy will be filled through an open <br />recruitment or by internal posting, promotion, transfer, or other method. <br />During the transition from Communications Technician/Recycling Coordinator/Receptionist to Permit <br />Technician, Ms. Nelson will continue to support both positions as able. The Receptionist function will be <br />handled internally with coverage handled by part time Parks and Recreation staff as available. <br />Ms. Nelson is at Step 4 within her current position, and scheduled to advance to Step 5 effective August <br />12, 2022.
