RESOLUTION NO 9580 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZE PROMOTION FOR JENNIFER NELSON TO PERMIT TECHNICIAN <br />WHEREAS, the City's Permit Technician resigned effective April 21, 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, according to Section 1.02 Hiring Practices of the Personnel Manual, <br />the City Administrator or designee has the ability to determine if a vacancy will be filled <br />through an open recruitment or by internal posting, promotion, transfer, or other method; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Nelson has provided support to the Community Development <br />Department since 2018 and has been trained on most aspects of the Permit Technician <br />position, staff recommends promotion of Ms. Nelson to the position; and <br />WHEREAS, during the transition from Communications Technician/Recycling <br />Coordinator/Receptionist to Permit Technician, Ms. Nelson will continue to support both <br />positions as able; and <br />WHEREAS, the Receptionist function will be handled internally with coverage <br />provided by part time staff as available; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends Ms. Nelson move into the Permit Technician <br />position at Step 4 effective April 25, 2022, and advance to Step 5 after one year in the <br />position effective April 25, 2023. <br />2022 Pay Plan — Permit Technician <br />Step 3 <br />Step 4 <br />Ste 5 <br />$29.66 <br />$31.30 <br />$32.95 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />authorizes Staff to promote Jennifer Nelson to the Permit Technician position effective <br />April 25, 2022 at Step 4 of the Pay Plan. <br />ATTEST: <br />Adopted this 25T" day of April, 2022. <br />Carol A.
