Work Email Please <br />Why do you want to serve on the Board of Northeast Youth & Family Services? <br />The City of New Brighton sees NYFS as a valuable partner in the community. Personally, as a parks and recreation <br />director, I see the opportunity to blend my passion for service as well as the knowledge I have from engaging the <br />community through parks and recreation services, planning and events. I hopefully bring to the table a different <br />set of community connections that might not otherwise be represented. <br />Describe previous volunteer experience. What talents/resources do you bring that will contribute to the success of <br />the Board? <br />I am currently the president of the Minnesota Recreation and Parks Foundation. It is the only 501@3 organization <br />in the state of Minnesota dedicated to enhancing the profession of parks and recreation through training, <br />research, grant funding, and scholarships. I have been a member of that board for five years. I am also a previous <br />board member for the Minnesota Recreation and Parks Association, and am a member of the Coalition 624 <br />steering committee. <br />Not only do I have nearly 20 years of progressive experience in public service through Parks and Recreation, but I <br />also have 10 years of experience working in the private sector in a variety of Marketing and Communication roles. I <br />love connecting people to each other or to services in order to create success. <br />I am also the director of a department that has a $5 million dollar budget.
