2. Store materials in well ventilated facility that provides protection from the <br />sun weather, and fire hazards. Maintain ambient storage temperature <br />between 45 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, unless otherwise recommended <br />by the manufacturer. <br />3. Keep containers sealed until ready for use. <br />4. Do not use materials beyond manufacturer's shelf life limits. <br />5. Take precautions to prevent fire and spontaneous combustion. <br />E. Handling: Protect materials during handling and application to prevent damage <br />or contamination. <br />1.07. EXTRA MATERIALS <br />A. Extra Materials: Include minimum 1 gallon of each type and color of coating <br />applied. <br />1. When manufacturer packages material in gallon cans, deliver unopened <br />labeled cans as comes from factory. <br />2. When manufacturer does not package material in gallon cans, deliver <br />material in new gallon containers, properly sealed and identified with <br />typed labels indicating brand, type, and color. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01. MANUFACTURERS <br />A. Paints: <br />1. Sherwin-Williams <br />2. Tnemec <br />3. Approved Equal <br />B. The products of other manufacturers comparable in quality and type will be <br />acceptable if the following conditions are met: <br />1. Satisfactory data is submitted on past performance of the product. <br />2. The Engineer approves the product. <br />3. No request for substitution shall be considered unless prior written <br />approval has been obtained seven (7) days prior to the bid opening. <br />C. Requests for substitutions shall: <br />1. Include certified ingredient analyses. <br />2. Results of testing detailing minimum performance requirements as set <br />forth by the Engineer and these specifications. <br />3. Provide colors that match existing finish of storage tank on site. <br />2.02. MATERIALS <br />A. All materials shall be brought to the job site in the original sealed and labeled <br />containers of the coating manufacturer and shall be subject to inspection by the <br />Engineer. <br />B. Submit to the Engineer, immediately upon completion of the job, Certification <br />from the manufacturer indicating the quantity of each coating purchased.
