B. Damaged Coatings: Touch-up or repair damaged coatings. Touch-up of minor <br />damage shall be acceptable where results are not visibly different from adjacent <br />surfaces. Recoat entire surface where touch-up result is visibly different, either in <br />sheen, texture, or color. <br />C. Coating Defects: Repair in accordance with manufacturer's instruction coatings <br />that exhibit film characteristics or defects that would adversely affect <br />performance or appearance of coating systems. <br />3.08. FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Inspector's Services: <br />1. Verify coatings and other materials are as specified. <br />2. Verify surface preparation and application are as specified. <br />3. Verify DFT of each coat and total DFT of each coating system are as <br />specified using wet film and dry film gauges. <br />4. Coatings Defects: Check coatings for film characteristics or defects that <br />would adversely affect performance or appearance of coating systems. <br />a. Verify Contractor performs repairs to deficient areas as required <br />in 3.07. <br />b. Report: <br />1) Submit written reports describing inspections made and <br />actions taken to correct nonconforming work. <br />2) Report nonconforming work not corrected. <br />3) Submit copies of report to Engineer and Contractor. <br />3.09. CLEANING <br />A. As work proceeds and upon completion, promptly remove paint where spilled <br />splashed or spattered. <br />B. During progress of work keep premises free from unnecessary accumulation of <br />tools, equipment, surplus materials and debris. <br />C. Remove temporary coverings and protection of surrounding areas and surfaces. <br />D. Upon completion of work leave premises neat and clean. <br />E. Exposed concrete surfaces shall be protected from blemishes and stains during <br />welding, blasting and painting. If discoloration of exposed concrete results from <br />painting, rusting or any other aspects of tank construction, it shall be removed to <br />the satisfaction of Engineer. <br />F. Painted surfaces shall be protected from discoloration, scratching or other <br />damage. Any touch-up painting required to damaged areas prior to project <br />completion and acceptance is the responsibility of the Contractor. <br />G. The Contractor shall, at all times, keep the premises free from accumulations of <br />waste material or rubbish caused by his employees or work. He shall clean-up <br />abrasive material or rubbish on a daily regular schedule as directed by the <br />Engineer.
