results and the resultant classification of waste materials, it is agreed by the <br />parties to this Contract that the Engineer shall perform independent testing and <br />shall determine all questions in relation to the classification of waste materials. <br />The Contractor will be held liable for all supplementary testing, Engineering and <br />associated Contract Administration cost. <br />N. On or before the completion of work, the Contractor shall, unless otherwise <br />directed in writing, remove all temporary works, tools and machinery or other <br />construction equipment placed by him. He shall remove all rubbish from any <br />grounds that he has occupied and shall leave all of the premises and adjacent <br />property affected by the operation in a neat and restored condition satisfactory to <br />the Engineer. <br />3.10. PROTECTION OF COATING SYSTEMS <br />A. Protect surfaces of coating systems from damage during construction. <br />3.11. TWO YEAR INSPECTION <br />A. Owner will set date for Two-year inspection of coating systems. <br />B. Inspection shall be attended by Owner, Contractor, Engineer, and <br />manufacturer's representative. <br />C. Repair deficiencies in coating systems as determined by Engineer in accordance <br />with manufacturer's instructions. <br />3.12. SCHEDULES <br />A. Color Schedule: Colors to be selected by Owner <br />3.13. CONTAINMENT AND CONTAINMENT PLAN <br />A. The existing coating on the pressure filter and backwash tank is classified as <br />lead -based paint. Testing from the pressure filter at each facility confirms the <br />lead presence. See Paint Chip Lead Test Results. Therefore, it is anticipated <br />that abrasive blasting will may generate hazardous waste. The use of a <br />proprietary admixture to the selected abrasive such as "Blastox" (TM) is required <br />to ensure satisfactory toxicity characteristics testing. Therefore, all work shall be <br />performed in accordance with Chapter 7025 for the Removal of Lead Paint from <br />Steel Structures of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br />B. The Contractor shall be fully responsible to provide full containment of the <br />abrasive blasting operations to prevent the drift of abrasive and existing exterior <br />paint removed throughout the facility. Therefore, Containment and disposal per <br />state and federal regulations will be mandatory. In conjunction with full <br />containment, the contractor shall be responsible to provide adequate dust <br />collection or negative air to the containment system to prevent the release of <br />emissions to the environment and to provide a reduction of lead dust exposure <br />for workers. <br />C. Provisions shall be made to remove and collect dust particles from the interior of <br />the containment.
