K9 Niko Annual Report 1-4-2021, Officers responded with K9 Niko to assist New Brighton PD on the 500 block of County Road D for an alarm call. Officers arrived and found forced entry to the rear service door to the business. Officers searched the business with the K9. No one was located in the business and it appeared that nothing was out of sorts in the business. On 1-21-2021, Officer responded with K9 Niko to search the woodland area of Greenfield Park for an alleged homeless encampment. Searched the area with K9 Niko but tent/shelter was not located. On 2-8-2021, Officers responded with K9 Niko to the area of County Road H and Old Highway 8 to assist with a search of an object discarded from the suspect vehicle after a pursuit. On 2-10-2021, Officers were called to Cornell Drive for a burglary in progress where the suspect kicked open the door and attempted to make entry. Officers cleared the house with K9 Niko but the suspect was not located inside. On 2-24-2021, Officers were called to the 5000 block of Wellington Ave for a felony warrant arrest attempt. K9 Niko assisted with making the arrest. On 4-8-2021, Officers responded with Mounds View Police K9 Niko to the area of Cleveland Ave and County Road C to assist the Roseville PD with a domestic assault suspect that fled on foot. While responding in the area, a Roseville Officer aired over the radio that he located the male sitting in front of a building north of County Road C. Officers arrived at the location with K9 Niko and deployed him as an arrest assist. The subject surrendered and was placed in custody without incident. On 4-8-2021, K9 Niko was requested to respond to the area of Cleveland Ave and County Road C to assist the Roseville PD with a domestic assault suspect that fled on foot. K9 Niko responded and the suspect was located in front of a business on County Road C. The subject surrendered and was placed in custody without incident. On 5-6-2021, the ATF conducted a search warrant of a house on the 2200 block of County Road H2. K9 Niko responded for a narcotics sniff of the house. On 5-10-2021, Officers were called to the 5000 block of Longview Drive for a burglary. The window of the house was found broken out. K9 Niko assisted as officers cleared out the house and a male was located inside. On 6-2-2021, Officers responded to the 8000 block of Pleasant View Drive to assist an out of state agency with a search warrant at the address. The subject was suspected of murder. K9 Niko assisted as the warrant was served and the subject was detained without incident and officers safely cleared the house. On 6-17-2021, K9 Niko was called to assist NBPD with a K9 Drug sniff of an apartment.
