Public Works Staff Report <br />Greenfield Park: <br />RCWD ARJD#1 Project: Rice Creek Watershed District is planning the re -profiling and repair of <br />Anoka -Ramsey Judicial Ditch No. 1 which runs through Greenfield Park. Also included is Branch <br />No. 5 which is located behind the baseball outfield and crosses below the parking lot entrance. <br />Staff will be meeting with RCWSD to inquire the status of this work. <br />• RCWD has the goal of completing this project this year, but may wait until colder weather <br />for work to commence. <br />• Staff has been trying to get an updated timeline for the project from RCWD <br />• Staff meet with RCWD to clarify scope of work. Tree removals in along the ditch will likely <br />be required to allow equipment access. RCWD will need to coordinate the stabilization of <br />the bank after removals. Staff stated they will need to provide some cover near the <br />parking lot. No scheduled start date. No updates at this time <br />• Council Approve going out for plans, specifications and quotes at the November 27, 2017 <br />Council meeting <br />• Scheduling meeting with RCWD for ARJD#1 project, meeting date and time still in <br />progress. <br />Hillview Park: <br />• City Council approved the proposal to expand the hockey rink, work will start later this <br />summer/early fall. <br />• Staff removed the West end hockey boards and asphalt surface in preparation of the rink <br />expansion. <br />• Contractor started the expansion of the rink new posts have been installed and chain link <br />fence on the top. <br />• Hockey rink fence completed, Public Works staff completed installing the boards. Grading <br />and fill need to be completed. Depending on the weather the base may be a 2018 project. <br />• Base to be completed in 2018. <br />Other: <br />MCES Sewer Interceptor Project: Metropolitan Council Environmental Services is planning to <br />III piuvC d iaiyc uiameter sewer pipe at the northwest corner of Quincy and Hillview. MCES is <br />finalizing construction plans and have been reviewed by engineering division, comments returned <br />to MCES. MCES still planning on a 2015 project. Some trees have been tagged in order to be <br />transplanted in other City Parks. Project still scheduled to start later this spring. The work on the <br />meter station at the intersection of Quincy and Hillview has been delayed due to heavy rains and <br />flooding in September. Contractor is having to clean out the interceptor again due to heavy <br />sediment deposits in the line. Work will continue through the winter. A December closure of <br />Quincy Street to the north of Hillview is anticipated and is be required to complete Project is <br />nearly completed. Staff met with MCES to coordinate the installation of trail and planting of trees <br />as part of the restoration. A cooperative layout and tree location is being coordinated between <br />Mounds View and MCES. Working with MCES for final restoration of the southeast corner of the <br />park. This project has been completed and restoration of the area is almost finished, trees are <br />planted, hydro seeding done. City contractor continues to restore the area used for street project. <br />City contractor has restore areas used for bone yard. <br />MCES will potentially need to gain access to the site again, they are having some issues with a <br />flume that was installed. At this time the extent of work is yet to be determined. <br />3/3 <br />
