Mounds View Police K9 Unit — 2022 Q2 - Sgt. Schultes and K9 Grizz <br />On 4/24/22 at 2047 hours, officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of Red Oak Drive for a <br />possible burglary in progress. The caller could hear a cell phone ringing in their garage that did <br />not belong to them. Officers arrived and made contact with the caller. I deployed K9 Grizz on <br />lead and we cleared the garage to ensure there were no suspects inside. <br />On 5/3/22 at 2040 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Scotland Court for a <br />violation of a domestic abuse no contact order. The caller advised the male was damaging <br />property in the hallway, then likely fled the area on foot. The male was known to officers, and <br />is a habitual violator of the no contact order. Due to the circumstances, I deployed K9 Grizz for <br />an area search for the male. K9 Grizz led officers to a camp site in a nearby wooded area. <br />Based on his behavior, it was apparent someone had recently been in the camp, but was no <br />longer there. He cleared the surrounding area and we determined the suspect was no longer in <br />the area. <br />On 5/8/22 at 0019 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Dickens Lane for a <br />domestic assault. After speaking to the victim, it was determined that the suspect threw a fire <br />pit with an active fire burning inside at her, causing visible burns to her clothing and skin.
