SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS - CONTINUED <br />2 B. 2°d Quarter PD Report — Police Chief Harder. <br />3 <br />4 Police Chief Harder reviewed the Mounds View Police Department's second quarter report with <br />5 the Council. He stated drug arrests were down, but noted VCET was still active in the community. <br />6 He explained DUI offenses were up along with theft offenses. He stated this was not just a Mounds <br />7 View issue, but rather theft was up 30% throughout the entire metro area. He encouraged the <br />8 residents of Mounds View to register their catalytic convertors with the Mounds View Police <br />9 Department. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Mueller stated she lives on Groveland Road between Mounds View Boulevard and 85tn <br />12 She discussed how the construction traffic along Groveland Road was adversely impacting the <br />13 residents in her neighborhood. She requested the Mounds View Police Department place extra <br />14 enforcement along Groveland Road. Police Chief Harder discussed how his officers were <br />15 distributed throughout the City to address crime and speeding. <br />16 <br />17 Council Member Meehlhause thanked the Mounds View Police Department for their tremendous <br />18 efforts on behalf of the community, and Chief Harder for his leadership. <br />19 <br />20 C. Jill Brown and Troy Olsen — North Metro Mayors. <br />21 <br />22 Jill Brown, Executive Director of the North Metro Mayors, introduced herself to the City Council. <br />23 She thanked the Council for being a member of the North Metro Mayors organization. She <br />24 commented on the great work this organization has done by pulling together the mayors in the <br />25 North Metro. <br />26 <br />27 Troy Olsen, North Metro Mayors representative, introduced himself to the Council noting he was <br />28 a lobbyist for North Metro Mayors. He discussed the roadway projects North Metro Mayors was <br />29 lobbying for at this time. He commented further on the candidate forums that are hosted by North <br />30 Metro Mayors. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Mueller thanked Ms. Brown and Mr. Olsen for their presentation and for working <br />33 effectively on behalf of the City of Mounds View. <br />34 <br />35 Mayor Mueller recommended the Council address Item 6 — Public Comment next. <br />36 <br />37 6. PUBLIC COMMENT <br />38 <br />39 Sheryl Hoye, 7750 Long Lake Road, discussed the rerouting of Bus Route 25. She explained she <br />40 received a letter from Metro Transit letting her know that a bus would now be driving past her <br />41 home. She highly opposed this. She questioned how many of the Councilmembers lived on a bus <br />42 route. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Mueller reported she lives on a bus route and noted this has not been a problem. <br />45 <br />46 Ms. Hoye asked if Mounds View was incentivized in any way by having buses. <br />
