Mounds View City Council September 12, 2022 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br /> <br />focusing on political signs. However, he noted all signs were supposed to be 15 feet from a lot <br />line or 30 feet to a sight triangle sign. He stated staff would be working with residents to return all <br />signs. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer reported the City takes the same action every year to remove political signs <br />that are posted incorrectly within the right-of-way due to the number of complaints the City <br />received. <br /> <br />Zach Lindstrom, 8378 Long Lake Road, explained he was running for City Council. He stated he <br />has had many good conversations with residents that live on Groveland Road. He indicated these <br />residents were concerned with the housing at 85th and County Road J. In addition, he received <br />feedback regarding the development near Taco Bell stating residents opposed this development. <br /> <br />Mr. Lindstrom requested the Council consider exempting political signs from the sign ordinance <br />given the fact they will only be in place for two or three months. <br /> <br />7. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />8. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />A. Resolution 9625, Approving the Hire of Alexis Campis-Olalde to the Position <br />of Facilities Maintenance (Monday-Friday). <br /> <br />Human Resource Director Ewald requested the Council approve the hire of Alexis Campis-Olalde <br />to the Position of Facilities Maintenance (Monday-Friday). She noted Mr. Campis was available <br />to begin working in Facilities Maintenance on Tuesday, September 13. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9625, <br />Approving the Hire of Alexis Campis-Olalde to the Position of Facilities Maintenance (Monday- <br />Friday). <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />B. Resolution 9629, Authorizing Certification of the Preliminary General Fund <br />Budget and Preliminary Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2023. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer requested the Council certify the Preliminary General Fund Budget and <br />Preliminary Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2023. He reported the City Council had to certify <br />a preliminary levy to the County by September 30 of each year per State Statute. He discussed <br />how LGA has been considered for the coming year. He commented further on the proposed <br />revenues and expenditures for 2023 and recommended approval of the preliminary General Fund <br />Budget and Tax Levy. He discussed how the median value home would be impacted by the <br />proposed levy increase. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause requested further information from staff on how the budget breaks
