Resolution 9635, Approving the Hire of Angela Gornik to the Position of 8 Recreation Coordinator. 9 10 Human Resources Director Ewald requested the Council approve the hire of Angela Gornik to the 11 position of Recreation Coordinator. She reported 20 candidates applied for the position and seven 12 interviews were held. After conducting the interviews, staff was recommending Angela Gornik be 13 hired for this position. 14 15 MOTION/SECOND: Bergeron/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9635, 16 Approving the Hire of Angela Gornik to the Position of Recreation Coordinator. 17 18 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. 19 9. REPORTS 20 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 21 22 Council Member Cermak invited residents to attend the 2nd Annual K9 Walk on Saturday, October 23 1 at Silver View Park at 10:00 a.m. 24 25 Council Member Meehlhause reported retired K9 Niko would be making an appearance at the K9 26 Walk along with the City's two current K9 officers. He noted the Mounds View Lions would be 27 providing hot dogs, chips and water for an in -kind donation at this event. 28 29 Council Member Meehlhause stated the Charter Commission met last week and passed two 30 Resolutions that will be coming to the City Council regarding changes to the City Charter 31 regarding special elections and the removal of language that was unconstitutional. 32 33 Council Member Meehlhause explained the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission passed a 34 recommendation that will be coming to the City Council to consider a park name change. 35 36 Council Member Meehlhause asked if a stormwater study report update would be provided to the 37 Council next Monday. City Administrator Zikmund reported staff would be providing the Council 38 with an update at the work session meeting on Monday, October 3. 39 40 Mayor Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be meeting Tuesday, September 41 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Public Works Facility. She invited residents interested in planning next year's 42 event to attend. 43 44 Mayor Mueller requested an update on the catalytic convertor marking event that was held on 45 Saturday, September 24. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported over 30 46 cars attended this event.
