Resolution 9635, Approving the Hire of Angela Gornik to the Position of <br />8 Recreation Coordinator. <br />9 <br />10 Human Resources Director Ewald requested the Council approve the hire of Angela Gornik to the <br />11 position of Recreation Coordinator. She reported 20 candidates applied for the position and seven <br />12 interviews were held. After conducting the interviews, staff was recommending Angela Gornik be <br />13 hired for this position. <br />14 <br />15 MOTION/SECOND: Bergeron/Hull. REPORTS <br />20 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />21 <br />22 Council Member Cermak invited residents to attend the 2nd Annual K9 Walk on Saturday, October <br />23 1 at Silver View Park at 10:00 a.m. <br />24 <br />25 Council Member Meehlhause reported retired K9 Niko would be making an appearance at the K9 <br />26 Walk along with the City's two current K9 officers. He noted the Mounds View Lions would be <br />27 providing hot dogs, chips and water for an in -kind donation at this event. <br />28 <br />29 Council Member Meehlhause stated the Charter Commission met last week and passed two <br />30 Resolutions that will be coming to the City Council regarding changes to the City Charter <br />31 regarding special elections and the removal of language that was unconstitutional. <br />32 <br />33 Council Member Meehlhause explained the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission passed a <br />34 recommendation that will be coming to the City Council to consider a park name change. <br />35 <br />36 Council Member Meehlhause asked if a stormwater study report update would be provided to the <br />37 Council next Monday. City Administrator Zikmund reported staff would be providing the Council <br />38 with an update at the work session meeting on Monday, October 3. <br />39 <br />40 Mayor Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be meeting Tuesday, September <br />41 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Public Works Facility. She invited residents interested in planning next year's <br />42 event to attend. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Mueller requested an update on the catalytic convertor marking event that was held on <br />45 Saturday, September 24. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported over 30 <br />46 cars attended this event. <br />
