Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />8 <br />9 Council Member Meehlhause indicated he would be attending an NYFS Board of Directors <br />10 meeting on Thursday, October 27. He reported he would be attending a Twin Cities Gateway <br />11 Finance Committee meeting on Thursday, November 4. <br />12 <br />13 Council Member Cermak stated the Mounds View Police Foundation would be meeting on <br />14 Tuesday, November 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Random Park. She commented on the upcoming coat drive <br />15 and thanked all of the residents who would be participating. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Mueller stated Abiding Savior Church would be hosting a Trick or Trunk event on <br />18 Saturday, October 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. <br />19 <br />20 Mayor Mueller commented on the Mayor for a Day essay contest that was being sponsored by <br />21 the League of Minnesota Cities. <br />22 <br />23 Mayor Mueller reported the Festival in the Park Committee met last Tuesday and discussed <br />24 plans for next year's festival. She encouraged residents to considering volunteering to assist with <br />25 planning this great community event. She stated the Festival in the Park Committee would meet <br />26 next on Tuesday, November 15 at the Public Works Facility. <br />27 <br />28 B. Reports of Staff. <br />29 <br />30 City Administrator Zikmund stated he would be having lunch with the NYFS Executive Director <br />31 tomorrow. <br />32 <br />33 City Administrator Zikmund explained the SBM Fire Chief hiring process was moving forward <br />34 at this time and final interviews would be held on Wednesday, October 26. <br />35 <br />36 City Administrator Zikmund reported he would be drafting an article for Mounds View Matters <br />37 regarding the Community Center expansion exploration. <br />38 <br />39 City Administrator Zikmund commented five staff members met with Polco, which was a <br />40 community survey company. He stated staff would be meeting with an additional survey <br />41 company and would report back to the Council at a future worksession meeting on this topic. He <br />42 estimated a community survey would cost $8,000 to $10,000. He reported most neighboring <br />43 communities were completing community surveys every three to five years. <br />44 <br />
