and the current city council has placed this entire neighborhood area into an unsafe fire
safety accessibility issue due to the Grey stone flats development and now with the
proposed Woodale apartments this would only add to this safety issue with another single
high traffic driveway on to Woodale and only one egress path for trucks to access the area
again as it was back when the fire chief brought his concern forward. This is not what the
city should be approving. Woodale is already unsafe with speeds and traffic.
3) Finish previously approved projects first (the Gate between Greystone flats parking lot and
Greenfield cul-de-sac has not been installed yet. I have several emails from MV admin and
Jon Sevald stating this was to be installed by the proposed project and would be followed up
on for completion, still unresolved) Finish this project before starting any others.
4) The project proposal of a Single driveway does not allow enough room for fire truck access
due to the center on ground parking directly in front of the driveway as shown on proposal
drawings. And the amount of parking is a bare minimum for this size development. Not to
mention what is going to happen with heavy snowfall as this leave no room for pushback and
snow truck removal is yet another noisy traffic that is not needed for this area. We already
have plenty of noise with the Central sandblasting all night work and the Allina ambulances
using egress into the neighborhood as their preferred routes with and without sirens or
lights, always with excess speeds. This has been reported to city admin many times.
5) Project calls for residential group gathering areas yet the plan drawings do not show any
areas in the drawings.
6) Setback variances reduced with reduced public screening vegetation reduction. This needs
screening and trees added back to the property if developed as it has taken away so many
older mature trees that make the city and clean the air from the 35w addition as you know
the air study was never completed and pollution was a concern when this was being
developed and the trees around the bridges were removed.
7) This Land site is way too small for this size development. And is a first impression when
traveling into Mounds View. Trees and green space need to be preserved and this is a first
view of what Mounds View has to offer, save it as is.
8) Proposed 4 story building Height is too tall for this area with additional parking level under 4
stories, makes it 5 stories. Way too tall for this hilly area.
9) A Single development driveway onto Woodale is not enough and will cause additional traffic
into the neighborhood as the school parking lot driveway and the Greystone flats project
have done.
