From: FRANK PAONE
To: Al Hull; City Council; Jon Sevald; Bill Bergeron; Theresa Cermak; Carol Mueller
Subject: Woodale Apartments
Date: Friday, November 25, 2022 1:48:04 PM
Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution.
Mayor and City Council,
We have been residents of Mounds View for forty-eight years and we will be the most affected by this
development. We have been negatively impacted by the building of the Bel -Rae senior center with
additional traffic and parking issues. Now you want to change this once quiet neighborhood with even
more congestion. Our city needs growth but not in apartment buildings. Why are you changing the code
from three stories to four with the attach underground garage making it a five story? We are opposed to
the re -zoning. Why not build houses or townhouses with out TIF. Plus, there is the possibility of saving
some of the 100 year old trees. You have not done your duty in determining the impact of this densely
populated development on the schools, infrastructure, and the local community. Why are we increasing
the number of residents in a city that does not have services such as grocery stores and restaurants,
beyond Moe's and Aldi's, that an increased population will need. What plans are there for the traffic
congestion and parking issues? How will students safely get to schools? The schools are already at
capacity. We should stop and plan a development that would benefit the current residents of Mounds
View and any future residents. We need solutions to the problems these developments will create.
Sincerely,
Frank and Mary Paone
5240 O'Connell Dr.
