Mounds View City Council November 28, 2022 <br />Regular Meeting Page 14 <br />1 He commented further on the candidates and recommended approval of the list. <br />2 <br />3 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9657, <br />4 Approving Slate of Candidates to Ramsey County Board for Appointment of a Commissioner to <br />5 the Rice Creek Watershed District. <br />6 <br />7 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />8 <br />9 E. Resolution 9659, Approving a Three Year Labor Agreement with the LELS <br />10 204 Police Patrol and Investigators Effective January 1, 2023 through <br />11 December 31, 2025. <br />12 <br />13 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve a three year labor agreement with the <br />14 LELS 204 Police Patrol and Investigators effective January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2025. <br />15 He discussed the terms within the agreement and recommended approval. <br />16 <br />17 Finance Director Beer explained the bottom step would be increased from 70% to 75% of the top <br />18 maximum which should help with the hiring process. <br />19 <br />20 Mayor Mueller supported this recommendation and commented on how important it was for the <br />21 City to maintain its valued police officers. <br />22 <br />23 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9659, <br />24 Approving a Three Year Labor Agreement with the LELS 204 Police Patrol and Investigators <br />25 Effective January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2025. <br />26 <br />27 Council Member Meehlhause stated he was part of the HR Committee and noted he was pleased <br />28 with the reasonableness of the proposed agreement from LELS. In addition, he appreciated the <br />29 fact this agreement was in line with other departments. He thanked Police Chief Harder for the <br />30 culture he has created within the Mound View Police Department. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Mueller added that the Mounds View City Council supports its police department, its <br />33 officers and appreciate how they serve the community. <br />34 <br />35 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />36 <br />37 F. Resolution 9660, Approving a Three Year Labor Agreement with the LELS <br />38 232 Police Sergeants Effective January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2025. <br />39 <br />40 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve a three year labor agreement with the <br />41 LELS 232 Police Sergeants effective January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2025. He reviewed <br />42 the terms within the agreement, commented on the importance of middle management within the <br />43 Mounds View Police Department and recommended approval of the labor agreement. <br />44 <br />45 MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Meehlhause.
